In-Class 15-min Blog-Writing Prompt #5

I read a story about the news of Japan's tsunami during the reading period. I can only vividly remember the story now as it was quite long ago. The story was very clearly reported, stating clearly about how the tsunami affect Japan. It expressed the thought of Japan's prime minister and how other countries like the United States of America was planning to help japan. It also states the problems Japan is now facing for example the nuclear disaster. From the way the writer wrote this article, it made me empathize with the state of the people in japan. I give my well wishes to Japan.

In-Class 15-Min Blog-Writing Prompt #4

To : Editor, The Straits Times
Dear Sir / Madam ,

I would like to comment on what Singaporeans can learn from the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Singapore can be more prepared for similar disasters that might hit Singapore from this warning. Japan was so badly hit mainly because they were not prepared. This warning will also let Singaporeans know how lucky they are to be in Singapore , a safe country where almost no disasters happened. We woorld learn to treasure it and not take it for granted. Singaporeans can also develop a stronger bond with each other by raising awareness together or raising funds together for Japan. Most importantly, it will increase the awareness for a need for preparations in case a similar thing happen to Singapore

In-Class 15-Min Blog-Writing Prompt #3

Literature is the art of written works, and is not bound to published sources The two most basic written literary categories include fiction and non fiction. What literature means to me is works of words use to convey the authors feelings and thoughts. I like reading literature but I hate analyzing them. Reading books or poems lets you picture an image of the story and enhances your creativity. Poems are quite hard to understand because of the uses of shortened sentences, use to express the authors feeling within as little words as possible or to fit the poem. The us of words in a poem might not be the best as it is to make the poem rhyme or sound nicer. In conclusion, I enjoy reading literature in my own free time but I don't quite like to do literature as a topic/subject.

Only 1 of the many elderlys could speak English very fluently and told us clearly about her experiances during the World War ll. She described the Japanese as being very cruel and very dominating.
